Where's the Outrage against Mets fans!!!!

When I read today in the New York Post that Mets fans "cheered loudly when it was announced that Ryan Howard was injured in Washington," I thought it was no class!  The next thought I had was that if that was in Philly and Phillies fans were cheering Chipper Jones or David Wright being injured, it would lead ESPN, Fox Sports and every local sports newscast in the New York Tri state area.  Because, as we ALL know, ONLY Philly fans are rude, despicable and a roving hoard of obnoxious slobs!!  Well that was the description the Nationals announcers painted when the Phils faithful Philled up "Natstown USA."
Well all I have to say that all of you Mets fans that cheered; Karma is a bitch!!  Oh wait, you team already blows even without injuries, so what is your excuse this year?
Get some class Mets fans!!

A funny change from Sports.

Here is a clip from one of my all time favorite Representatives, James Traficant (who is now in jail for taking bribes)  This was recorded on July 31, 2001.  Ironic that he made these statements!

Worst Umpiring Crew in MLB??

Adrian Johnson has to be THE worst umpire in MLB. We all know about that abomination game of 16 walks called earlier this year with the Mets and Phillies but did anyone see him reverse his call in the Twins and Brewers game on Sunday night just because the Twins manager, Rod Gardenheir argued with him about Joe Mauer being hit on the hand. The Brewers got screwed because the next guy up, Justin Morneau smacked a grand slam.
Then he has a controversial call last night in the Mets and Nationals game that gets upheld but shouldn't have on a Gary Sheffield home run. This guy is awful!!! He needs to be run down to Little League!!
Then I read the box score and find out that this crew has called ANOTHER 16 walk game!!!!!!! I know that the Nationals pitching isn't that good but John Lannan and John Maine are not THAT bad!!!
If this was one bad call I wouldn't make a beef and but I have been noticing a bad pattern with this crew in lots of different game where I don't have a rooting interest.
Maybe the Cubs Milton Bradley has a point about the umps being out to get him if you got bonehead umps like this calling games!!!!

Obama Inauguration

I just saw something I will remember for the rest of my life! A sea of humanity listening to the newly sworn in President give a speech and not one of them talking, but listening.
Listeing with Hope.
Listening with Pride.
Listeing with Joy.
Listening with a critical ear.
But none the less, EVERYONE, listening.

That was awesome!!
I just sat at work today covering the inauguration and I didn't see black, white, yellow or whatever. I saw America celebrating America with all its differences and warts. I walked outside my building here on Capitol Hill to experience America and now I know why all of these people came here today, to say that EVERYONE in this country has a chance!! President Obama is the example of that epitaph!!
Good Luck Mr. President and we are here to do our part to make America better!!!

What to expect from Eagles-Giants

Well I don't know what to expect tommorrow from the Eagles- Giants matchup other than I know these two teams will get after it and after each other!

I have looked at this form every angle possible and there is not much of a difference in the two squads. Yes the Giants have a great running game bu the Eagles have a better passing game. The BIG difference is no Plaxico Burress. Him not being in the lineup enables the Eagles defense to sneak a safety down in the box and also matchup with the tight end more and not have to worry about Plaxico getting behind a corner. The big difference between the first meeting adn the second was controlling the tight end position and, oh yeah, limiting the run. The one thing the Eagles need to do n the offensive side of the ball is STICK to the run like they did in Minnesota with the Vikings. also, getting Donovan McNabb out on some designed roll outs or draws will keep that agressive D-line honest. He also will have to pick up a couple of 1st downs with his legs. Otherwise, let Brian Westbrook and Correll Buckhalter carry the load.

Here is where I think the game will turn. He will come down to turnovers and special teams. The Eagles defnitely have a advantage in the return game but the Meadowlands is David Akers' own house of horrors!!
I will go out on a limb here and predict an Eagles win but at a cost. Someone key will get hurt, just from attrition of having to play so many brutal games up until now. DeSean Jackson returns a punt to the Giants 8 yard line with 3 minutes left. When the Eagles can't get in the end zone as usual, akers kicks a FG with 1:45 left and the Eagles defense snuffs out the ensuing Giants drive with a sack of Eli Manning and fumble!!
Final score Eagles 20-17!!!

How does that sound folks?!

Now the other games:
Titans 27 Ravens 13
Cardinals 32 Panthers 35 (Neil Rackers has 6 FG and  DeAngelo Williams has 4 TDs)
Steelers 17 Chargers 6 (Darren Sproles will turn into Sprocket)

Phillies are 2008 Champs (and Bud lucks out!)!!!!

I can't beleive it!! The Phillies are World Series Champs!!!!
I didn't think I woud lever see this happen again! The last time I was 11 years old with a pillow wrapped around my head waiting for that famous strikeout by Tug. My mom and I screamed with joy then!! Now, fortunately I was able to watch Brad Lidge strikeout Eric Hinske with my 7 year old sitting next to me. He saw his Dad freak out and start screaming with joy again, almost crying. Hopefully, he will remember this for the rest of his life and not wait until he is a father to see the next one.
As Pat Gillick said, "Let's do it again!!"

My 7 y.o. leads me to this nexy point in that "Bud" luck out in this whole game 5 fiasco. What a great ending the other night! I let all three of my kids stay up to watch but only my oldest able make through the end. But if all World Series games were started earlier, maybe ratings wouldn't be in the toilet and more people would be able to stay up and see the end of the game. Not just kids either, but working people like myself who have jobs that get them up between 4 and 6am. After the euphoria of winning I looked at the clock and it was 10pm!! Great!!! I put my son to bed with a BIG smile on his face and mine!! That is a memory we will share forever!!!!! How great will it be for a Cubs fan to share that moment with his kid whenever/if they win it all? But the way things stand now, that won't happen.
I hope Bud and FOX takes this as a lesson that people will watch but it has to be on at a reasonable time. Why do you think the Super Bowl is so big? One reason it starts at 6pm!!

I will ride this feeling until spring training and I will definitely be less critical of the Eagles for the rest of the year..maybe!

2008 CHAMPS!!!!

Phillies need a Leader!!!

This is pathetic!! TWO great starting pitching performances WASTED!!!

It really takes a lot for me to get upset with the Phillies but the last two games have done it!

The first thought in my mind of why the Phils aren't not hitting is they are missing a leader and a decent #6 hitter; which Aaron Rowland was for this team and is now providing for the Giants! He would set the bottom of that lineup up to turn over for Jimmy Rollins, Victorino and Utley. Is it a wonder why Rollin's RBI number is way down? Nobody on base!

Another thing when you don't score runs, it forces Unkle Chaalie to take out the starters who are having great performances in order to manufacture runs, which otherwise, if they had a lead they would keep them in the game and not exhaust the bullpen.

Great move Gillick in not resinging Rowland. Now you see what he meant to the team. Some stats are not measured on the stat sheet but you can sure see it when he is NOT in the lineup!! Being shut out 8 times this year alone and back to back for the first time in NINE years speaks volumes to me!

This team needs a LEADER now!!!!
I wonder who will step up?!
