Where's the Outrage against Mets fans!!!!

Posted on: August 2, 2010 4:37 pm
When I read today in the New York Post that Mets fans "cheered loudly when it was announced that Ryan Howard was injured in Washington," I thought it was no class!  The next thought I had was that if that was in Philly and Phillies fans were cheering Chipper Jones or David Wright being injured, it would lead ESPN, Fox Sports and every local sports newscast in the New York Tri state area.  Because, as we ALL know, ONLY Philly fans are rude, despicable and a roving hoard of obnoxious slobs!!  Well that was the description the Nationals announcers painted when the Phils faithful Philled up "Natstown USA."
Well all I have to say that all of you Mets fans that cheered; Karma is a bitch!!  Oh wait, you team already blows even without injuries, so what is your excuse this year?
Get some class Mets fans!!

Where's the Outrage against Mets fans!!!!

I agree completely Mark. I think the reason for this is lazy journalist. It's easy for them to perpetuate the notion that Philadelphia fans are worse then any other fan base, but it's just not true. Chicago has fans that jump the fence and fight people on the field. The Montreal Canadien's fans recently rioted in the streets after winning a second round playoff series. A fan in Cleveland had to be removed for his safety just because he was wearing a LeBron James Miami Heat jersey. If any of this were to happen in Philly it would be reported more and talked about for years as examples of why Philly fans are so bad, but most reporters will excuse these morons by saying they're just "passionate".

Don't believe me? One of the first things out of reporter's mouths when talking about the fans in Philadelphia is "they threw snowballs at santa claus" which by the way only happened 50 years ago. Undecided
